# Overview

Orbit Wholesale B2B automatically sends branded email notifications at key points in the B2B registration flow.

## When emails are sent

| Email                    | Sent to        | Trigger                                              |
| ------------------------ | -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| **New submission**       | You (merchant) | A customer submits the registration form             |
| **Application approved** | Customer       | You manually approve a submission                    |
| **Application rejected** | Customer       | You manually reject a submission                     |
| **Auto-approved**        | Customer       | Auto-approve is enabled and a submission is received |

## Default behavior

Out of the box, the app uses a built-in email relay (no setup required). Emails are sent from the app's default sender address.

To send emails from your own domain (e.g. `noreply@yourbrand.com`), [configure your SMTP settings](/orbit-b2b-docs/email-notifications/smtp-setup.md).

## Customizing emails

You can fully customize all 4 email templates — subject line, body content, and shortcodes — from **Registration → Email Settings**.

Each template has a rich-text editor with formatting options. Use [shortcodes](/orbit-b2b-docs/email-notifications/shortcodes.md) to insert dynamic values like the customer's name, group, or a rejection edit link.
